About this property

SOLD STC.

A wonderful detached modernist home, occupying an exceptional plot

New House nestles idyllically within an exceptional and private plot in this leafy conservation area between Ham Common and Richmond Park. Remarkably, the property is being offered for sale for the very first time in its history.

Built by the much acclaimed Hungarian architect Stefan Buzas in 1960 for the Lascarides family (Mr Lascarides was himself a senior naval architect), the house is a fabulous example of mid 20th Century modernist architecture, with its clean lines and large windows affording an excellent flow of natural light. Buzas became a founding partner of James Cubitt and partners in 1948 and some of his most significant works included the Qantas Airways showrooms, interiors of the Queen Elizabeth 2 liner and RIBA's very own Heinz gallery in Portman Square. His expansive use of glass and frameless spaces gave a new sophistication to shopping, setting the standard of design for the future.
