About Bicycle Works
Bicycle Works is the first rental phase of Smithgate, a new neighbourhood being created around Wolverhampton’s Market Square. The development is on Peel Street and will provide 331 apartments across three buildings rising to six storeys. ECF, the partnership between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England, is delivering the scheme with City of Wolverhampton Council.
Caddick Construction is building the homes, with construction underway and completion expected in 2028. The first phase also introduces public spaces and ground-floor commercial opportunities around the existing square. The architecture takes its lead from Wolverhampton’s industrial heritage. Bicycle Works forms one part of the wider Smithgate regeneration, which is planned to bring approximately 1,000 homes, shops and other neighbourhood uses into this part of the city centre.
